Privacy Policy

Last updated: 20 April 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how FamilyDock (the "app") collects, uses, shares, and protects personal data. It applies to the FamilyDock Android application and the supporting backend services.

Short version. We collect the data you and your family put into the app (events, tasks, messages, expenses, documents, children's profiles). We use it only to provide the app's features to your family, keep it secure, and fix crashes. We do not sell your data and do not use it for advertising. You can delete your account and all your data at any time from Settings → Delete account.

1. Who we are

The controller of your personal data is:

Rudolf Sedláček
Cabanova 1, 841 02 Bratislava, Slovak Republic
Email: privacy@familydock.app

If you have any question about this policy or about how your data is processed, please write to the email above. We reply to every request within 30 days, as required by the GDPR.

2. Data we collect

2.1 Account data

When you create an account we process:

2.2 Family content

Anything you create in the app is stored so that other members of your family can see it. This includes:

2.3 Children's data

Parents can create profiles for their children inside the family. A child profile may contain:

Some of this data (health information) is considered a special category of personal data under Article 9 GDPR. We process it only because you (the parent) explicitly give us consent by entering it into the app, and we use it only to display it back to members of your family.

Children do not create their own accounts. A child profile is created and managed by a parent. A child who uses the "Child Mode" on a device only sees a read-only view of the family data their parent has configured; the child does not sign in.

2.4 Location data

If you enable location sharing, the app reads your device's GPS position and stores it under your family so that other members can see where you are. Location sharing is off by default. You can turn it off at any time in the app or by revoking the location permission in your Android settings.

2.5 Push notification token

To deliver notifications (e.g. a new task assigned to you) we store the Firebase Cloud Messaging token of your device. The token is linked to your user account and is refreshed automatically. If you sign out or delete the app, the token is invalidated.

2.6 Purchases and subscriptions

If you purchase a FamilyDock Pro subscription, the purchase is processed by Google Play. We receive a record of the purchase from RevenueCat (our subscription provider), linked to your user account. We do not receive your credit card number or bank details.

2.7 Diagnostics (opt-out)

To fix bugs and understand how the app is used, the app sends anonymous usage events to Firebase Analytics and automatic crash reports to Firebase Crashlytics. These include the Android version, device model, language, approximate country, and stack traces. They do not contain your email, messages, or any family content.

You can turn this off any time in Settings → About → Help improve FamilyDock.

6. Your rights under the GDPR

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

To exercise these rights, write to privacy@familydock.app.

7. Security

All traffic between the app and our backend is encrypted with TLS. Data at rest is encrypted by our cloud providers. Access to production systems is limited to the controller and requires two-factor authentication. Despite reasonable measures, no system is 100% secure; if we become aware of a personal data breach that poses a risk to you, we will notify you without undue delay and report it to the supervisory authority within 72 hours as required by the GDPR.

8. Children's privacy

FamilyDock is intended for adults managing a family. Children do not create their own accounts and do not sign in. Child profiles are created, managed and deleted by their parents, who are responsible for the information they add. If you are a child and you believe your data is in the app without your parent's knowledge, please contact us at privacy@familydock.app.

9. Information for California residents

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. The same email address above applies. We do not sell personal information and have not sold personal information in the preceding 12 months.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top. For material changes we will also notify you in the app or by email before the change takes effect.
